Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how VetForge uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you use our platform.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They allow websites to remember information about your visit — such as whether you're logged in — and provide a more consistent experience. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which work in the same way but are stored differently in your browser.

2. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage

Authentication Cookies (Supabase): When you log in to VetForge, Supabase — our database and authentication provider — sets session cookies and/or localStorage entries to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. Without them, you would be logged out on every page load. These tokens are scoped to your account and are used solely for authentication.

Preference Storage: We use localStorage to remember non-sensitive preferences, such as whether you have completed the onboarding walkthrough, so you don't see it every time you log in.

Analytics (if applicable): We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics tools that set session-level cookies to understand how users interact with the Platform. These do not track you across other websites and do not contain personally identifiable information.

Payment (Stripe): When you check out, Stripe may set cookies on its payment pages for fraud prevention and session management. See Stripe's Cookie Policy for details.

3. What We Do Not Use Cookies For

4. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

Note: Blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from logging in to VetForge. Blocking localStorage may prevent onboarding preferences from being saved.

For instructions on managing cookies in your specific browser, visit your browser's help documentation.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
